Shadow Zoo is designed for playful hand shadow learning while keeping data handling local and minimal.

Information We Access

• App state such as favorites, learned progress, and unlock status
• The hand shadow images and videos bundled with the app
• Voice playback requests when you tap a name to hear pronunciation
• Device information you choose to include when sending feedback by email
• Purchase entitlement information used to restore and unlock premium content

How This Information Is Used

1. Show the correct hand shadow cards and filter results
2. Play the matching demo video when you tap a shadow image
3. Speak Chinese and English names aloud on demand
4. Save your favorites and learned progress locally on the device
5. Restore your unlock status after a valid purchase
6. Pre-fill a support email only when you choose to send feedback

On-Device Storage

Shadow Zoo stores favorites, learned marks, and unlock status on your device only. The app does not require an account, and this progress is not synced to a cloud service by default.

Bundled Content

The hand shadow images and videos used by the app are included with the app bundle. Shadow Zoo is not designed to scan your photo library or import personal media automatically.

Camera Permission

Shadow Zoo requests camera access only to control the flashlight for shadow play. The app does not use the camera to capture photos or video.

Speech and Audio

Pronunciation is generated on device using Apple speech features. Shadow Zoo does not record your voice for pronunciation playback.

Purchases

If you buy the unlock item, Apple handles the payment. Shadow Zoo only checks the entitlement needed to unlock premium hand shadows and restore previous purchases.

Feedback by Email

If you choose to send feedback, Shadow Zoo opens your mail app and pre-fills a message to hellobanny@gmail.com. The email can include device model, iOS version, and app version so we can help you faster.

Third-Party Sharing

Shadow Zoo does not intentionally sell your personal data. Aside from Apple system services needed for app features such as speech, purchases, and mail composition, the app is not designed to share your data with unrelated third parties by default.

Policy Updates

If this privacy policy changes in a future version, the in-app copy and the website copy should be updated together.
